One home for four desks

The app opens on this screen. Each design below works: hover a card or move to it with Tab or the arrow keys, then click it or press Enter (or 1–4) to open that desk. Press Esc to come back. Ideas taken from sarvam.ai: a large panel beside a grid of cards, and a soft colour shape that grows on the chosen card.

New desks are
A

Showcase split

A large moving picture on the left shows what the chosen desk does; four cards on the right open the desks.

1click or key opens a desk
1 largemoving picture; it follows the card you point at
2 × 2cards, like sarvam.ai's model cards

✓Good

  • Explains each desk before the user opens it.
  • Closest to the sarvam.ai look you liked.
  • Moving to a card with the keyboard also changes the picture.

✕Bad

  • The picture shows only one desk at a time.
  • Uses the most space; on small laptops the picture shrinks.
B

Four tall cards

A short welcome line on slowly moving colour, then four tall cards in one row, each with its own small moving picture.

1click or key opens a desk
4 smallmoving pictures, all playing at once
1 rowall desks side by side, equal size

✓Good

  • All four desks look equal and easy to compare.
  • Every card explains itself without pointing at it.
  • Cards lift and tilt under the mouse, which feels alive.

✕Bad

  • Four pictures moving at once can feel busy.
  • Each picture is small, so details are hard to read.
C

Dark ledger

A dark screen with example bank entries flowing past and finding their ledgers on the left; four wide rows on the right, each with its number key.

1click or key opens a desk
0pictures that explain a desk; the moving entries are only decoration
4 rowswith their number keys always shown

✓Good

  • Feels like a calm, serious tool for accountants.
  • Number keys are in plain sight, so keyboard users learn them fast.
  • Rows have room for longer names later.

✕Bad

  • The moving entries tell nothing about E-com, Balance Sheet or GSTR-2B.
  • Dark, while the desks inside are light (unless the user picks dark mode).
D

Statement Desk first

Statement Desk gets the big tile, with the last import to continue; the other three desks are smaller tiles beside it.

1click or key opens a desk
2×Statement Desk's tile is twice the size of the others
1 lineshows the last import still to finish

✓Good

  • The desk people use today is the easiest to hit.
  • "Continue" brings people straight back to their work.
  • Honest when the new desks are not ready yet.

✕Bad

  • Desks are not equal; it says "Statement Desk is the main product".
  • When the new desks grow, this layout must change again.

My recommendation

Choose A, Showcase split

  • It is the sarvam.ai pattern you asked for: moving picture on the left, cards on the right, colour that grows on the chosen card.
  • It teaches each desk in one picture, which matters while three of them are new.
  • It works fully by keyboard: arrows choose a card, the picture follows, Enter or 1–4 opens.
  • Later, take one idea from D: a small "Continue: Shree Ganesh Traders · 3 PDFs to check" line under the cards.

If the new desks are not ready at launch, switch on "Coming soon" at the top to see how each design shows it.
